Update...

Knox County petitioned for leave to appeal the appellate court decision to the Illinois Supreme Court. The Illinois Supreme Court ruled less than unanimously in favor of The Highlands, L.L.C., stating that the size of an operation did not prevent it from being agricultural in nature. This ruling prohibits counties from zoning large-scale hog farms as industrial entities.
