University of Illinois professors and Illinois policy makers are invited to submit short articles of up to 650 words (approx. 2.5 double-spaced, typed pages) for review and publication in Illinois Environmental Policy Review (IEPR). IEPR is a semiannual newsletter published by the University of Illinois. Each issue of includes up to 4 articles. Issues may have a single theme or a variety of topics may be addressed.
Audience
IEPR is sent free of charge to the following groups in Illinois: mayors, city managers, county board members,
state legislators, as well as other officials, citizens, and organizations that express interest in

Approach
IEPR is published in January and June. Its short articles describe the environmental policy choices facing Illinois citizens, the consequences of local, state, and federal environmental policies in Illinois, and the associated decision-making processes. Pro and con viewpoints are encouraged. All articles must be relevant to Illinois.
Style
Because most of our readers are not specialists in the topics covered by IEPR, the publication is written in a style appropriate for general readers. Articles are written to clearly discuss key points and support any conclusions or arguments. Articles must cite sources of data, evidence, and other important information. Background information that would normally be cited in footnotes or in a reference list will not be published; instead, this information will be available to readers electronically on the IEPR webiste or upon request in printed form. Graphs and other artwork can be used sparingly, but the editorial board reserves the right to forego publication of artwork and include it in the background material that is available upon request or online.
