About SIRIC
SIRIC was established in 1969 to compile the
world literature of arthropods associated with soybeans and to produce a database of that literature. The Center has
published bibliographies on soybean entomology, and served
growers, researchers, and institutions around the world.
Related
Organizations SIRIC is a project of
the Illinois Natural History Survey's Center for Economic
Entomology, and the Illinois Agricultural Experiment Station, with generous current support from the Illinois Soybean Checkoff Board, the Strategic Research Initiative in Information Systems and Technology of the Illinois Council on Food and Agricultural Research (C-FAR), and the National Soybean Research Lab.
The Web search interface and computer server for the SIRIC database is prepared and maintained by the University of Illinois Graduate School of Library and Information Science.
About the SIRIC Database The SIRIC database
was first computerized in 1972 and closed in 1990, but has now been improved,
updated, and for the first time,
made publicly available for searching via this Web site.
Links A collection of links to
selected sources on soybean entomology, as well as to soybean organizations and entomological sites.
Meet the Staff SIRIC's current principal investigators are entomologists
Edward J. Armbrust, Michael E. Irwin, and William G. Ruesink. SIRIC was previously lead by entomologist Marcos Kogan.
